Frequently Asked Questions

Please visit our Event at a Glance page for the answers to many questions.

Can I cancel my registration?

It is preferable that you find another representative of your organization to attend RPD in your stead rather than cancelling altogether. After you register online (and agree to our cancellation policy) you may not cancel your own registration. Instead, please contact the event coordinator to make arrangements. According to the cancellation policy, after August 17 there will be a $30 cancellation fee deducted from any refunded registration. No refunds will be issued for cancelled registrations after September 1, and your registration fee will be considered a donation in support of the event--we thank you for your donation to the program!

Can I make changes to my registration?

You may make changes to your registration through our online registration website.

What payment methods are accepted for the conference?

Payment by credit card is strongly preferred, but organizational checks will also be accepted. If you choose to pay by check, your registration will not be confirmed until payment is received.

I have been to Rural Philanthropy Days before. Why do I have to go to the pre-training?

Three pre-event Capacity Building Workshops are offered by the Community Resource Center before Rural Philanthropy Days in order to maximize your organization's exposure to the right funders at the event. Our funders require your attendance at one of these pre-event trainings to make sure that organizations are thoroughly prepared before the actual event. The half-day workshops are designed to engage both veterans and newcomers in the nonprofit world. You’ll receive some professional coaching around your pitch, and we welcome you to share your expertise and experience on the “two minute speech” with your colleagues!

Is lodging included in my registration?

Lodging is not included in your registration fee. Several area lodging properties are offering special rates for Rural Philanthropy Days attendees. Please visit our Accommodations page for more information and be sure to mention that you are attending RPD when you make your reservation.

Once I’m in Steamboat, how do I get around town?

Steamboat Springs Transit (SST) provides a FREE, fixed route bus service throughout the City of Steamboat Springs. Year-round bus service is provided daily around town and between downtown and the Ski Resort Mountain Base area (including our conference location, the Sheraton Steamboat Resort and Conference Center) . Schedule information will be provided at the event and is available on the buses and in brochure racks located throughout Steamboat Springs.
